Dubai Ports...

This one really has me scratching my head. Why would Bush come out so strongly on the side of Dubai Ports World? This Middle Eastern company is purchasing P&O, out of London. This would give them control of our some of this country's most critical ports. Bush is threatening to veto any vote that would prevent this.

He claims that this company and the tiny country they hail from have always been friendly to the US. That very well may be so, but in this day and age when Grandma Jones can be searched at the airport because you "never can be too careful", something smells with this scenario. We've been warned repeatedly that those wishing to do us harm are not part of organized politics (for the most part), that they are religious offshoots. Moles can and are living amongst us, working amongst us. We are supposed to be ever vigilant.

Do I doubt that this company is supportive? Do I doubt that their country is supportive? No. That doesn't mean that individuals within that organization may not be against us. This is inviting trouble. Do we not have any companies in the business of port management?

There has to be much more than we, as the public, and possibly the Congress is being allowed to know. There has to be something we are gaining, besides good will, to have this make sense.
